Waiting

Sitting at Giants Stadium waiting for what should be an interesting post-mortem by Tom Coughlin and his players. Must remember to count how many adjectives they can come up with for "horrible."

Yesterday, I made a mistake on Hixon's injury. Turns out he came out of the game with a hip-pointer. It was Sinorice Moss whose foot had to be x-rayed, and that's why Corey Webster was back there on that final punt. We'll get an update on those two, I'm sure.

But for now, here's a question. If Michael Boley and Chris Canty can participate in team drills, even to a very limited extent this week, do you force them back into the lineup for San Diego, or do you play it safe, sit them, and have them both back for the last seven games of the season. I guess the question here is, can the Giants tolerate risking another loss without those two in the lineup in exchange for extended health?

Your opinions and guidance much appreciated.

  1. gogolacking says "yes, hold them out for one more week", at this point, their value is for divisional games vs Dallas and Philly.

    Must bring in a kicker

  3. Canty has not played all year. Boley played one game. How can they be ready to play at this point? If they can I would on a situational basis. Canty on pass rush and Boley the same or in a key cover situation.

I would wait for Ross. My fear is he eventually plays, reinjures himself and is gone for the season. His return is the only potential solution the Gaints have to the CC problem. He or Thomas must replace CC at least on known pass downs.

  4. I say keep them out one more game unless they're 100% ready to go.

  5. Is it me, or is anyone else disappointed with Pierce's performance the past three games? I have not seen him do anything too noteable. What about having Sintim in on passing downs? Wait, what about having Sintim in at all? If the veterans aren't getting it done, bring in the rookies/young players who want to prove themselves!

  6. I hope this puts an end to the "Jerry Reece is a genius" talk. Bottom line, the secondary is awful, the LBs too slow, and the vaunted D line on which Jerry spent so much time and money on in the offseason is mediocre at best. This team needs A LOT of help at A LOT of positions. I have to admit, I did not think it would be possible that they could play this poorly. I don't see this train wreck getting turned around anytime soon. I used to be afraid that the potential lockout would cost the Giants a Super Bowl ring. Now I'm praying for it to happen to end our misery. They are not even looking competitive anymore. Well, at least we're not Oakland. Oh wait, the Raiders beat the Eagles. Well, at least we're not Tampa Bay! For now.

  7. Did CC Brown play this poorly in Texas? Most of these guys on D played for 2 years under this system. New coordinator might be the solution.

  8. I agree that we need a lot of linebacker help and wonder why Sintim is not in or one of the other younger FASTER linebackers. Reese got the pieces for a good defense. Unfortunately Canty , Boley and Ross have been hurt and we lost Phillips which was BIG. I was hoping to see the younger players in game action because that is the only way we get better. Pierce and Clark are not going to get better and Blackburn is playing out of position. He should start in the middle. I would say the Reese did not plan for a potential Phillips injury which has killed the defense.

  9. They have to try to get one of the practice squad players (anderson maybe)...Put a rookie corner in as a safety, play cover two only, and hope he can play the ball better than cc.

That is what we have to do.
