here's a question. Assuming Brandon Jacobs, DJ Ware, Gartrell Johnson, and Andre Brown are all in useable condition, what would you do with Ahmad Bradshaw? Remember, he's still experiencing some pain and swelling from surgery on both feet and his left ankle over the offseason, and it's unlikely he'll take more than one practice per day during camp.
Might he, by necessity, become a third back instead of Jacobs' change-of-pace guy?

We love you Ernie! On behalf of all the jerks here, let me be the first to apologize for their behavior.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly: Say 'Bye to Ware. G-J is better. But I'm not at all comfortable with BJ whining about his knees. And didn't he say that he wouldn't play hurt this year? Or that he made a mistake by playing hurt last year? Oy. Ugh. Sounds like 10-12 games for him to me.
Ahmad Bradshaw and BJ are the only running backs who have shown they can play in the NFL and since BJ breaks down so regularly Bradshaw should be the featured back by default. Add in a heavy dose of Jacobs especially toward the end of the game and u have a decent 1-2 punch. The other 3 have a lot to prove and cannot be trusted at this point.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a son I would like them to grow up and be just like Ern! In fact, if my wife goes for it I am going to name my first son ERNIE P! Welcome back!
ReplyDeletedj ware can go. keep the rest, im sure you can use either johnson and or brown on special teams. if not then hope that one of them can be moved to the practice squad.
ReplyDeleteas far as I'm concerned, Ware and Johnson haven't shown anything. Bradshaw is really shifty and remarkably strong legs for a small guy. Even if he has to take some practices off... put him in there. He knows the offense by now and is the most explosive back we have.
ReplyDeleteI found it hilarious that with all the euphoria amongst Giants fans going into last season (myself included) that Danny Ware was being talked up while never doing a thing. All it took was one play for him with his overly large shoulder pads for every Giant beat writer and fan that gave this guy undeserved credit of being a viable option. Glad to see most of u learned ur lesson.
ReplyDeleteThe RB group did not change it's look at all in the off season and yet this group had the most question marks. Shame on the front office for not picking up a healthy and reliable player. Coupling the questions at RB with the questions at LB and this team is heading for 4-12.
ReplyDeleteBradshaw needs to be on the field as much as possible, what are we saving him for anyway? Is he the future of the team? if so, why let him play on those ankles last year? If not, run him till he drops..
Bradshaw could become a UFA if the a new CBA is done this year, otherwise he is a restricted free agent. Knowing this, do you think there's a need to hold him out of the lineup?
ReplyDeleteNo way, he's the second running back and will see a lot of action as BJ, GJ and DJ can not make it the whole season
Bradshaw was limited in practice most of last year too. Surgery may change things, but am I crazy for expecting him to play just as much as last year.
ReplyDeleteSeems like there's a lot of potential to discover in Brown (from what I here he has 1st RB potential, long term). If Ware can prove his worth in the return game, I don't think Johnson makes the 53 man cut (as we need room for the D's depth in the front 7).
I still expect to see the chart as Jacobs-Bradshaw-Brown-Ware.
we should have done everything possible to keep Ward, what happens to this team if Jacobs goes down?
ReplyDeleteWe should make a move for Lynch to run with Jacobs. He can be a #1 once Jacobs inevitably goes down. Ward was a bit overrated in my opinion. Benefited from an AMAZING O-line in 08.
ReplyDeleteFor now, lets just hope Brown is the real deal.
