Not out at Giants practice today, but I do have my spies working overtime. According to Ohm of the Daily News, Eli Manning was not out at practice for a second straight day. Don't read too much into that, as that was the plan, anyway. Tomorrow will be a telling day. If he takes even a few snaps in individuals, bank on him playing Sunday. If not, then we'll all wait in suspense for a gametime decision.
I'm still betting he plays.
Also inside taking treatment were TE Kevin Boss (ankle), DT Chris Canty (calf), and LB Michael Boley (knee surgery). LB Bryan Kehl (finger) was on the bike, and CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw (in a boot with ankle/foot soreness) were on the side.
A couple of people have asked about Clint Sintim. He's progressing from his groin injury and is back to at least limited practice. But I'd be surprised to see him Sunday. I'm thinking that he needs to go through a whole week of full practice in order to contribute and not hurt that groin again. But that's just me.

Will the Giants have to sign another QB if Eli can't go? If so when will that have to happen? Who will be cut to make room?

ReplyDeleteMy guess is they'll just bring up Rhett Bomar from the practice squad. Don't know who they'd cut, but T Guy Wimper is always a candidate. They have until Saturday to do that, however, so don't expect anything until the picture becomes clearer with Eli.
are any of the other walking wounded ready to come back and contribute this week end? cg
ReplyDeleteIf Eli has to sit, better he sit against the Raiders - who are barely a pro football team - than the Saints.
