Whether Manning can go a whole week of not practicing and still play in the game, Coughlin had no doubt.
"He's done it before," Coughlin said, referring to the week after the 2007 opener when he sprained his A-C joint in his shoulder. "He'll be inside and he'll have the (projection) machine on. His tape time will be as good as or maybe more than a normal week.
"He'll study hard."
Also, TE Kevin Boss (ankle) and LB Michael Boley (knee surgery) stayed inside for treatment. Don't count out Boss for the game, though.
LB Bryan Kehl and his surgical left index finger took a few individual drills that involved more positioning than hand work, but don't expect him to play. His hand was heavily taped, and he held it elevated throughout practice to cut down on the swelling.
DE Chris Canty (calf) did some light jogging forwards and backwards on the sideline, but did not participate in individuals. And CB Aaron Ross lay on his back stretching and was also out of drills. RB Ahmad Bradshaw was back in his walking boot and Coughlin said he wouldn't practice again until Friday, as he did last week.
RB Danny Ware (elbow) got back to work for the first time since his dislocation. But don't count him in for Sunday yet. "The thing we have to worry about," Coughlin said, "is that he does have a brace and how bulky is it? Can he take a hit? There's a lot of things that have to be worked out. But he's excited about having a chance to practice."
LB Clint Sintim (groin) and G Rich Seubert (shoulder) both worked.
