Nicks "Fine"

According to the Giants, Hakeem Nicks' hyperextended right knee was found to be "fine" after an MRI last night and a further exam at the Hospital for Special Surgery today.

Don't know if he'll be out at practice tomorrow. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

  1. thank go for that. We need this guy after a fine rookie season, highlighting one of the few successful units we had on this team. Hope he makes it for the pre-season opener!

  2. Great news!! Tnhe Giants are so screwed at WR. It is not good to only have 3 viable NFL wr on the roster and when Ed Valentine is publishing interviews with Derek Hagan on day 4 of camp, u know ur WAY TO THIN AT WR. The Giants are screwed, SIGN PLAX!

  3. Best news for Giants fans in a long time. It would have been crushing to lose this guy. I think he really comes into his own this year and sets the table for being a Pro Bowl WR for years to come.

  5. GREAT NEWS!

Smith-Nicks-Manningham seemed to work fine for us last year in the pass game. I think we're far from screwed in that area.

  6. I don't see where we are screwed at wr either.

  7. U guys really think 3 viable wr (and recieving threats in totality unless u count boss it might be 3.5) are enough for a football team for a full season? I don't.

  8. That is because you are extremely too pessimistic Wayno. Smith, Manningham, and Nicks are just "viable"? Are you kidding me? Smith went to his first Pro Bowl, Manningham was hypothetically a rookie last year, and Nicks WAS a rookie last year and posted great numbers. These 3 are more than just viable. And you are down on Barden, so be it, I get where you are coming from, but give the dude a chance. He is a project and we all knew that coming in. Barden deserves his chance and he will get it. He fails, so what, you will be right and you can go claiming that you know more about football than Walter Camp. Hagan is an upgraded Tyree and I remember a few good catches by him during the regular season. He is better than Moss, so I'll take him. No one is stating that Hagan is the next coming of Rice, but you seem to be assuming that is what we think, and it is not. I understand you are bitter about some things with this team, but realize it when you have a good thing, i.e. the YOUNG wide receiving corps we have. I cannot stress young enough. These guys might surprise you.

  9. Viable was not an insult to one of the best top three receiving corps in the league just a reality that there are only 3 viable wr on the roster. Andre Johnson, Greg camirillo and Michael Crabtree are all viable NFL WR while each having much different skill sets and skill levels.

  10. There is a very good chance that the Giants could show the BEST receiving corps in the league this year, and they have a SB MVP QB throwing to them, after he had a 4,000+ yd season last year, so you may want to take the razor blade off your wrist.

  11. 3 Viable (and better than average IMO) options is more than half the teams in the league can claim. My only hesitation is on how viably Manningham really is. He's boom or bust this year and if he can't cure his butter fingers and land his toes inbounds, THEN we're down to 2 solid WR options (one being an injury waiting to happen) and I guess we COULD BE screwed.

I'm not against signing Plax, but I just think there are teams who will outbid for him.
