Hakeem Nicks sat out the Giants' first practice in pads this morning, a day after tests showed no damage to his hyperextended right knee. Don't read much into that. He's been on a one-a-day schedule, anyway, as he continues to come back from offseason toe surgery. Have to see if he practices this afternoon. If not, then maybe tomorrow.
Also on the bikes were TE Travis Beckum, S Kenny Phillips, TE Kevin Boss, DE Jay Alford, WR Mario Manningham, and G Kevin Boothe. Also, DE Osi Umenyiora, C Shaun O'Hara, and LB Keith Bulluck sat. Keep in mind that it is raining up there, though not nearly as hard as the torrents that are dousing Jets camp in Cortland. Those guys must be having a load of fun.

Ernie, any news on Phillips? How is his knee holding up? What are the chances of him being ready by week 1? week 2-5? With Bulluck sitting, who has been getting the most reps at MLB?
ReplyDeleteI am surprised Nick's is in pads and will be shocked with his history if he sniffs the field in the next 2 days.

Just trade beckum already or cut him.
ReplyDeleteLOL on cutting or trading Beckum. To make room on the roster for whom? You have the coach being quoted in interviews that it is up to him and Gilbride to find ways to work Beckum into the offense, so why waste your breath with this?
ReplyDeleteI think Moss should be higher on the cut list than Beckum.
