Canty Feels Good

Just back from the locker room and Chris Canty said he feels good after just two days of practice following a severe hamstring pull.

Whether that translates into significant playing time Sunday, who knows. But Canty was quick to offer the company line.

"I'm preparing to play," Canty said. "At the end of the day, that'll be the coaches' decision.

"I feel good physically. I don't think I'll be limited."

Canty said he practiced fully today. As for going into the game with little preseason work, he said that wouldn't be a problem. He sat in on all the strategy and classroom meetings and said he "definitely learned things that hopefully will allow me to help the team compete."

Starting to get the feeling that if Canty can survive the next two days, he could be in there to some extent Sunday. Still, could be a very limited role as the Giants try to be smart with him.

By the way, he is not listed on the official injury report. Kevin Dockery (hamstring), OL Adam Koets (ankle), CB Aaron Ross (hamstring), and LB Clint Sintim (groin) were listed as "Did not practice," which should make them all questionable at best.

  1. Congrats on the new website! I am looking forward to keeping up with the latest breaking news and insight right here. Good to see you got the Blue Screen on your list as well!

I hope the coaching staff takes a conservative approach with Canty in Week 1. We already lost Alford for the season. so the last thing we need is to push Canty into reaggravating his hamstring. Not only has he not practiced for the most part of the preseason, Canty will be playing a new position this year. I'm sure he's confident regardless, but I would like to see him close to 100% with his health and the playbook before Sheridan runs him out there.

  2. It's great that Canty is going to be back, but boy does that CB corps worry me. Ross AND Dockery are out? Thank goodness Webster and Thomas are the two best corners anyway. But are we really going into the season with undrafted Bruce Johnson as our nickel? Seriously? Ick.
