No Canty, Ross, or Johnson

DT Chris Canty (calf) was not at practice during the media's time there, which is not encouraging considering he had to leave practice early the day before when the muscle flared up. We'll get the lowdown later when Tom Coughlin speaks.

Also not practicing was S Michael Johnson, who still appears to be getting over the affects of his pinched shoulder nerve Sunday. Johnson was at practice, but was not in pads. Nor was CB Aaron Ross, who did some light running on the sidelines. He won't work this week and can be presumed out for his second straight game.

T Adam Koets (ankle) did not practice. And neither WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) nor RB Danny Ware (elbow) were at practice.

S Kenny Phillips was wearing pads and appeared ready to take a full practice after sitting out yesterday with a sore left knee. CB Kevin Dockery (hamstring), LB Michael Boley (hip), and LB Clint Sintim (groin) were working.

A sign of things to come? Jeff Feagles had a pretty heavy workday as the rains sent the Giants indoors. Among his many punts were five that hit the horizontal beams running across the top of the field house, about 80 feet from the surface. Keep in mind the big video board at the Boss Hog Bowl -- Cowboys Stadium to us northerners -- rises just 90 feet above the field between the 20s. At least two of Feagles' hits were rising when they struck the beams, so he's definitely got a shot at hitting the big board.

If he does, he doesn't win a new suit. Just a do-over, with no time runoff. Since it's a night game, he'd be better off falling just short to keep the clock running so everybody can get to bed at a reasonable hour.

  1. Nice Dodgers reference.

It's only a matter of time a punter gets flagged for intentional grounding. Or is it intentional scoreboarding?
