Ross, Dockery in circle

Just back from practice. CBs Aaron Ross (hamstring) and Kevin Dockery (hamstring) were both in the rehab area again, which is not good news for either. But the news for Ross may get better in the near future, though perhaps not in time for Sunday.

My boy at Newsday, Tom Rock (T-Rock to you, Mr. Rock to me) reported that Ross had the same plasma-rich blood therapy on his hamstring that helped Chris Canty get back from his hamstring tear. No apparent signs of improvement yet, though, as Ross did little more than some stretching during the media's time out there.

Dockery did some bike work, along with OL Adam Koets (ankle).

Another defensive question is who will start in the suspended Michael Boley's place at weakside linebacker. Boley, you may remember, is out for a game because of a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. The candidates are Chase Blackburn, Gerris Wilkinson, and Bryan Kehl. To me, it's choice between Blackburn and Kehl. But Blackburn's presence in first unit individuals with Antonio Pierce and Danny Clark may be the tipoff that he'll get the start.

That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, although Kehl did look decent in his two starts there last year. Blackburn had 14 tackles in the preseason, while Kehl had 11. We'll see.
