Interesting History

Leave it to John Mara to make the most incisive comment on the Super Bowl bid. In commenting after Giants VP Steve Tisch and Jets owner Woody Johnson, Mara remembered back to his father, Wellington, and the bad old days in the Polo Grounds when he used to walk into schools with a pocketful of tickets just to get people in the stands. "We've come a long way," Mara said.

  1. The Super Bowl saves the three amigos a lot of face. The naming rights will soon be sold. Good play, now sell some seats Woody hahahhaha hahah good luck at those prices.

  2. Yeah Wayne -- I couldn't help but think the same thing. This will allow the owners to say the vast sums spent on the stadium were worth it.

I try not to talk $$$$ on the time, but this type of issue is all about the bucks.
