The Cowboys' loss to the Chargers put the Giants in prime position heading into tonight's game. Win here, and they're in a three-way tie. But actually, they'd be in first place because of their head-to-head tiebreaker against Dallas and a divisional record tiebreaker over Philly.
But guess what? Even if the Giants lose, they can still sneak into a playoff spot providing the Cowboys continue their traditional December slide. Atlanta is just about out of the picture, and Dallas has its final three games at New Orleans, at Washington, and home against Philadelphia. And they'll face the undefeated Saints on a short week.
One can assume Green Bay will take the fifth playoff seed. So, it's entirely likely the Giants can sneak into that sixth spot even with two more losses, depending on how Dallas fares.
