Tomlinson Cut

The Chargers just cut LaDainian Tomlinson, who for the first seven years of his nine-year career was one of the most dominant running backs in NFL history.

Considering his production tailed off sharply the past two years because of injury and age, would you consider bringing him here to bolster a backfield that is currently led by two surgically-repaired players in Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw? He was due to earn $5 million with the Chargers. How much would you pay him, assuming you want him at all.

  1. He stinks now and the Giants thankfully have no room for aging primadonna RBs

  2. No go.

I love LT but he is past his expiration date.

  3. As a backup for the veteran's minimum, sure. He's worth the gamble for that. But we all know LT's ego won't allow him to accept the veteran's minimum. I say he ends up with the Redskins. Snyder loves to overpay for big names well past their prime. Hail to the Has-Beens!

  4. agree with the sentiments above; i hope he goes somewhere and does really well, but hes too much money, too big a gamble (at this point in his career) for a team like us with an already established running back corps. Washington, Detroit, Cleveland, Seattle, all possible landing places.

as far as the Chargers go, i wouldn't be surprised to see them trade up in the draft to nab CJ Spiller.

  5. When it's over for a RB, it's over. 9 years is a long career at that position.

He should retire, but I'm sure he won't. Too bad, that.

  6. Tomlinson's game relies on quickness and vision. Unfortunately, he's lost a step and that dominant quickness is gone. So best of luck to him, but we don't need him.

  7. The REAL "LT" is #56! We do not need this name-thief Tomlinson. We still have Brown coming back from season-ending injury, and we should probably consider an RB in the later rounds of the draft.
