Some Video

Yeah, okay, I know. I'm a sucker for a feel-good story. Look, we'll have plenty of time to talk about the drafted and undrafted free agents who have a legitimate shot at making a roster spot. But sometimes, football is more than a zero-sum sport, as we saw in the previous post about Brandon Crawford.

Here's a good video I found of him that should bring a tingle to anyone who watches. Very inspirational. So enjoy. We'll soon be talking about Xs and Os again, but for now, we'll stick with the 33-year-old Crawford and his most excellent journey.

  1. Last I checked football is about w's and l's and that is not why they invited this guy to minicamp. It was just a pr stunt and somebody should tell this guy or the Giants (they alreasy know) that a Disney movie will never be made about him. Now lets break down Hunt, Richmond or somebody else that has a chance to have an impact on the 2010 NY Giants.

  3. Come on. They won't bring him in if he is a dud. I'm sure he has got some talent. They didn't spend a draft pick on him.

I think it's great. If he can play, who cares if he's 33. 33 with no wear and tear isn't that old. I wish him the absolute best.

  4. I think this is a very classy move by the Giants. Why not give the guy a chance? He won't make the team. But, maybe he will influence some of the younger guys. Fits Tom's military mentality perfectly. I like it a lot.

  5. I applaud his efforts and accomplishments. But if it's between signing him (33) or John Henderson (31) I'm gonna have to go with Henderson.

  6. Wayno you absolutely crack me up. You're acting so hard nosed about this guy not making the team. A PR stunt? For who? Why in the world do you think the Giants need to employ a PR stunt? Is that going to help us get to the Super Bowl? Not likely. And in the last post you said "He takes the spot of the next Wes Welker". Thats implying that you knew how good Wes Welker was before anyone else did. How do you know Brandon Crawford won't be the next Wes Welker? Stop acting like you have something invested in this anymore than the rest of us fans do and enjoy the guys story and appreciate his hard work determination to make it this far. Sheesh.

  7. I don't understand. Because he's 33 he can't play football? Wayno, have you ever seen this guy play? Have you ever seen any of these undrafted guys play?

I hope you're being sarcastic with your comment because honestly it makes no sense. The Giants have a number of undrafted guys coming in and just because he's older it means he can't play? You're probably right, he's not going to make the team, but tell me how many of these guys are? One? Two?

Ernie, Schwartz, they already did their immediate evaluation of the draft and this is an interesting story. You need to lighten up.

  8. Every since this guy was signed I havent read one thing about JPP, Joseph, Jones or Dillard. This guy is 33. Please back to the business at hand NY Sports media.

  9. I'm actually with Wayno2424 on this. He's a good story, but there are a number of good stories out there. Unless injuries come to play, the numbers game rules him out automatically.

I'd much rather hear about how the Giants spoiled the Titans plan when they selected Paul-Pierre or how how Dillard may end up being a younger, bigger, and more athletic Antoni Pierce.

  10. Ernie, he's a Marine, not a soldier. Great story.
