Have a few things to keep on eye on today, not the least of which is how much LB Michael Boley and DT Chris Canty work. If they can take at least half the snaps as each did yesterday -- Canty said that "in my mind, I did everything," -- I'd expect both to play Sunday against San Diego. Tom Coughlin had better pray they weathered the workouts. Time's a wastin', and this is a critical game.
Somebody wrote in a question about Danny Ware yesterday, asking what's his status. He's back in the lineup. He played last week, but you wouldn't have known it because he was the second guy on kickoffs and never got into the offense. He'll be their third running back now, but don't expect to see him unless the Giants are killing the clock in the fourth quarter.

Ernie,
ReplyDeleteYou don't think the Giants would use Ward if Jacobs is struggling and Bradshaw's ankle is hurting or his fumbling problems crop up again? I saw he had an elbow brace last week, so I don't even know if he could carry the ball, but you don't think they would try him?
Maybe how they used Jacobs, Ware and Bradshaw last season? And is the secondary fixable? Is it just communication? Talent? Playcalling? I don't understand what's going on in the secondary.
And one final note, I can't agree more with Pierce. When the Giants blitz they have to get home and they haven't. Pierce, Blackburn, Brown and Clark all can't blitz. They don't blow up anybody. That's as much a problem as the secondary.
Ern, VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO PLEASE! Canty Boley workouts and interviews would be great!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to see D Ware in there maybe catching some passes out the backfield...a nice option the Giants use with ward and Jacobs. I would like them to use Ware considering Bradshaw isn't 10% and Jacobs isn't 10% of his old self from last year.
ReplyDeleteEli really needs to step up. Ernie has anyone asked him why his throws of late have been so awful and off target? Granted there are times when he has been under pressure...but there are times his throws are so way off. He's says it's not his foot but looking at some of his throws, you have tow wonder.
Ahhhh......killing the clock in the 4th quarter. Remember the good ol days?
