Maybe Gilbride?

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride could be in line as a possible successor to just-fired Buffalo coach Dick Jauron.

The Bills would have to wait until January to interview Gilbride, however. It's probably more likely that they'll hire former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, with whom they are in the process of setting up an interview. Gilbride would be a logical choice, however, since he was the Bills' offensive coordinator from 2002-03, when quarterback Drew Bledsoe had his most productive seasons up there.

  2. I don't think I'm alone in this: Can they take him now? Can't the Giants just wave their rights to KG.

  3. Wow, do you really think waiving KG in the middle of the season is a good idea? Really? If you do, you don't understand the complexity of running a successful football team. This isn't fantasy football dude.

I love to vent, like any fan, but please. KG is a respected OC and many other teams would love to have him. Step back and understand he is a big asset. Ease up and don't panic guys. Geeeesh!

  5. What do you think, Ernie? Gilbride's taken some heat recently but there's no doubt he's a great asset to us. He's a former head coach in the nfl who's helped us win a superbowl and spearhead a premier rushing offense the past couple years.

Despite the injury excuses, our defense hasn't functioned at the level it did before Spags left. Can we handle losing another quality coordinator? I don't know that Coughlin and the Giants have a situation like New England where you can just keep plucking assisstants away and there's still tons of continuity.

  6. I thought he was gone last year when Al Davis wanted him and settled on Tom Cable. Oh please, pretty please don't get my hopes up again...Buffalo you can have him and we'll throw in an autographed picture of Buddy Ryan.

  7. Even if he does not go to Buffalo, there should be a few head coaching jobs open next year. I just really hope KG finds a head coaching job with another team. I do agree that firing him mid-season is not the answer, but it is definitely nice to think about. What OC candidates would be out there for next year?
