Just confirmed

Just confirmed that Tom Coughlin has brought in ex-Giant and ex-Buc Matt Bryant in for a tryout with several other kickers.

Bryant was with the Giants from 2002-2003, and was cut by the Bucs in training camp after suffering a hamstring injury. Don't know who else might be in the mix, but a Giants spokesman said "It'll be more than a one-man tryout."

Meanwhile, Eli Manning is doing his usual Tuesday thing -- watching film, taking treatment on his plantar fascia injury. He is not wearing a boot or using crutches, leading me to believe he may well do some work tomorrow.

As to whether Coughlin is ready to give Tynes the boot after missing three makeable field goals this year remains to be seen. Could get an announcement later, or not.

  1. Tynes scares me every time he goes back there to kick. I never understood why they let John Carney get away. I know he doesn't have the leg to get kickoffs into the end zone, but either does Tynes! Carney was money almost every time. I think Tynes has had his chance.
