Here's something interest re: the Giants' search for a middle linebacker. The Eagles releaseed middle linebacker Will Witherspoon.
A lot of people in these parts thought it should have been the Giants, not the Eagles, who traded with the Rams for Witherspoon. Now, it looks like he's going to come free because of a $5 million pricetag for next season. The Giants almost certainly aren't going to get Karlos Dansby, but the mobile Witherspoon might be a good alternative.
He did struggle with the run after a solid first game in which he had an interception and a forced fumble, and was eventually moved to weakside linebacker. But he might be worth a look, especially because of his mobility.
