A Quick Aside

Just a slight diversion here from the business of football to show the heart of football as personified by tight end Kevin Boss.

Say what you will about him as a player -- I happen to love the guy for his smarts and toughness, but a lot of folks on this blog think he's overrated. Fair enough. But the guy really "gets it" off the field, and that's a nice thing.

Sometimes, it's the little things.

  2. Boss is an amazing TE, athlete, and person. I heard that this past year he was giving Giant tickets away to a lucky fan who wrote him an email about what they are thankful for (during the Thanksgiving time of course). I have always been a huge Boss supporter and I think that KG needs to find a way to get him more involved in the offense (think Clark and Witten), because I think this guy could be a real weapon. Especially inside the 35. Cheers to you Kevin Boss! Go Big Blue!

  5. Boss is great if u like a TE who gets no separtaion at the line, never gets open and is a a below avg. blocker. He is tough, seems like a nice guy and has pretty good hands but all you and Ern should realize his below avg. play was one of the big contributing factors in a bad offense (all u stats guys can take your stats and put them you know where because taht offense stunk last year, couldnt get a first down when one was REALLY needed and was a product statistically of the worst defense I have ever seen in my 30 yrs of Giants fandom).

  6. Hey Wayno...you're a moron. The Giants had one of the top offenses in the league. Look it up.

The reason you think the offense stunk is because they had a terrible defense and maybe one time you remember couldn't get a first down? So, you base your assessment on something nobody else uses. Makes sense.

And I'm glad you used this time, when Ernie mentions what a good guy he is to rip him. You're a real class act.

Get lost, you're an embarrassment to Giants fans.

  7. How exactly did I rip Boss? Did I call him a "moron," "embarrassment" or jerk???? No I told you how he never got open as shown by the fact he was invisible most games. The Giants had a terrible run game last year and he couldnt block me. The Giants offense was terrible last year, especially in short yardage, just like your blind use of stats and this forum to rip apart me when I only pointed out what was obvious to anyone who didnt watch that team through blinders. I guess the Tisch/Mara oligarchy will love u because u are the type of SUCKER who would pay for billionaires stadium in the form of PSL's. Now u get lost and get a second job because your "investment" loses money every year. hashaa ahha ahahha

  8. You are the embarrassment because you rely on stats to tell me the Giants offense was good last year. I am further embarrassed you paid for a stadium for billionaires. Now you get lost and get a second job because your "investment" just lost a little more $$$.

  9. But, was Boss the sole reason? Wayno, you do put a bit too much of the blame on him in your previous post. I think, for a TE, he is an above average blocker. The offense did not totally suck last year. Yes, the running game was flat, but our passing attack stepped up big time. We had, for the first time, a WR with over 100 catches! I think Boss was an enigma at times can be attributed to poor offensive scheme and Eli not reading progressions. The TE has been lost the last few years and I blame KG, not Boss' ability to seperate. Umm, he got plenty of seperation during the Super Bowl. And many times I saw him wide open this year, but Eli was being chased around the field at that point. The O-line and RBs need to fix their game. That, along with better offensive scheme, and Boss will show you exactly what he is made of. The dude has great hands. How many times last year did he hang onto the ball when getting a helmet to helmet hit. I can think of 3. That takes guts, athleticism, and determination. Oh and stop with the PSL defense, cause you know you are going to brag about the stadium next year to fans of other teams.

  11. I second that Ernie, we hear way too much about idiots like Plaxico and not enough about guys like Boss.
