DC Dance

How about the slash-and-burn going on in Redskins-land? Old Dan Snyder cut six players and cleared $11 million of base salary, not to mention bonus money and such.

DT Cornelius Griffin, RB Rock Cartwright, WR Antwaan Randle El, G Randy Thomas, CB Fred Smoot, and RB Ladell Betts all went. They're all familiar names, but don't get too excited. They're all pretty much shot, too. The significance here is that Snyder is apparently readying himself to participate in yet another of his fantasy drafts, which will inevitably lead to 7-9 despite the new leadership under Mike Shanahan.

Can't wait to see him get into a bidding war with Chicago for Peppers.

  1. What about Jamal Williams??? I have to think with the injury history he could come cheap. When he is playing well he is the type of DT the GMEN need.

  3. Ya, the only question is who pays more...Washington or Chicago.

I don't need to see him twice a year so I would prefer Chicago. Although Haynesworth didn't slow us down last year.

All I know is I feel sorry for D.C. fans. That is a franchise that keeps chasing it's tail.

  4. Giants in the mix for Rolle! Others are Bears and Cards plus one.

    Go Reese!

  5. I hear the Giants are making a big push for Rolle. Now that would be an excellent pick up.

  6. Here is the scenario I like. We get Rolle, let the Dolphins get Dansby and then our chances of drafting Ronaldo McClain just went up.

Any mock I read has him going to the Dolphins ahead of the Giants. He could fall to 15 in that scenario.

  7. Don't count Seattle out of the Peppers sweepstakes. Paul Allen is the one guy with more money than Snyder. I would be surprised to see Peppers in DC. The Skins haven't been blantly tampering with Peppers. Maybe that's the one thing Bruce Allen brings to the Skins, no more owner meeting the agent at the combine before the national press. Maybe now the Skins will only tamper in private. Danny boy must be livid that he can't break the rules out in the open anymore.
