And you may now cross off Karlos Dansby from the list. Reports are he's agreed to a five-year, $43 million deal with $22 million guaranteed, making him the richest non-pass rushing linebacker in the league. No way the Giants were ever going to pay him that kind of money.
Even though they opened the vault for Dansby, keep in mind, too, that the Dolphins are still interested in Antrel Rolle. As are the Cardinals.
Word is the Giants are also talking to Saints safety Darren Sharper in case the Rolle deal falls through. They've also expressed interest in the Colts restricted safety Antoine Bethea, who would cost them a first-round pick were the Colts to reject an offer sheet, and Rams restricted safety Oshiomogho Otogwe, who was tendered at no compensation.

I feel like the Giants have not spent big on safetys in the past. Atogwe seems like the cost effective player the Giants usually go after. Has had a good last 4 years.
